2001 | Nutcrackers, Nintendo

Nutcrackers

In 2001 the very first Klik series was releaed, the Nutcrackers.  There are three Klik dispensers in this series:
  1. Soldier (gray)
  2. King (red)
  3. General (white)
Note the "shoes" or "feet" on the Nutcrackers.  These are unique because most Klik dispensers don't have them.  Only the Nutcrackers, both Easter series, and the American Idol series of Klik dispensers have feet.

Originally, the Nutcrackers were released in bags that looked very similar to PEZ dispenser bags, but later the packaging changed to blister cards.

Nintendo

In 2001 the second set of Klik dispensers was released, the Nintendo series.  There are 6 dispensers in this series:

  1. Mario (Au'some)
  2. Link (Au'some)
  3. Donkey Kong (Au'some)
  4. Mario (Au'some Candies)
  5. Link (Au'some Candies)
  6. Donkey Kong (Au'some Candies)
The dispensers with "Au'some Candies" on the sticker are the original releases.  The dispensers with "Au'some" only on the sticker were released later when the company changed its name from "Au'some Candies Inc." to "Au'some Inc".

Most people are familiar with Mario and Donkey KongLink is a slightly less well-known character who first appeared in Nintendo's The Legend of Zelda video game from 1986.  Interestingly, all three characters were created by the same video game designer, Shigeru Miyamoto.
